Swift action saves a family from fire

On August 3rd at 2:43 AM, SOC Operator William Lambdin was conducting live video monitoring in the SIS Fusion Center and discovered a small fire had broken out at a client's residence in Brooklyn. Immediately, he, along with Operator Neil Napolitano and Intel Analyst Yancy Holmes, notified the Executive Protection team. The on-duty ODO quickly proceeded to the residence while simultaneously contacting the Principal's family, then informed the neighbor of the fire along the property line.

On camera, Lambdin, Napolitano, and Holmes viewed the Principal attempting to extinguish the fire with a hose and instructed the ODO to take it from her to ensure her safety. Approximately 30 minutes after the fire was first spotted, Operator Lambdin received final confirmation that the Principal and her family were safe, with no injuries and only minor damage reported.

Once emergency services arrived, the fire department inspected the fence and determined no further action was needed. The ODO spoke with an NYPD officer, confirming all residents were accounted for and no injuries occurred. The Fusion Center conducted sweeps of open sources, finding no mentions of the fire online, and sent an email summarizing the incident to internal and client contacts.

The team's swift action, led by William Lambdin, Neil Napolitano, and Yancy Holmes, exemplified vigilance and adherence to protocols, ensuring immediate communication, real-time updates, and collaboration. Their exceptional initiative and dedication safeguarded SIS operations and client safety, reflecting SIS core values.
